Meeting for Worship on the Occasion of Business
Held at the Senior Citizens’ Service Center,

November 25, 2018
Present were Timmy Bullock, clerk, Juliet Wright, Priscilla Tracy ,Eliza Navias-Bell, Lucie McKee, Dorothea Izzo and Auberta Galusha

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved with corrections.
2018-43 Priscilla Tracy reported on behalf of ministry and counsel.
2018-44 Meeting for business approves funding a portion of Juliet Wright’s cost to attend a 12-step retreat at Powell House.
2018-45 Meeting for business will ask Maryann St. John to address issues of funding housing for the homeless both by BROC and by the Coalition for the Homeless. Her presentation is in relation to the legacy grant that we will be offering. The meetings portion of the gift is $8950.56.
We will ask Maryann to present after potluck on first Sunday.
2018-46 Eliza Navias-Bell reported on behalf of finance committee.
2018-47 Meeting for business thanks the treasurer for her report. Meeting authorizes the increase of the retreat budget line item for the 2019 budget from $750.00 – $2250.00.
The meeting closed with silent worship.

Pastoral concerns discussed.
18-17 Ministry and Counsel asks business meeting to approve exploring avenues in regards to future retreats for adult education for the meeting – specifically looking at someone who could lead a workshop on John Woolman and look at examples of practical mystics, e.g. Rufus Jones. Authorization for funding needs to be explored.
18-18 Ministry and Counsel asks the clerk to be in touch with the Newbold’s about any possible Christmas-oriented activity that might be put in place for the December First Day School. We ask that the clerk ask the Newbold’s whether the First Day group would like to participate in a Christmas caroling activity on December 9.
18-19 Ministry and Counsel recommends funding a portion of Juliet Wright’s cost to attend a 12 step retreat at Powell House.
18-19 Ministry and Counsel reminds the clerk to be in touch with Sue Andrews once again in regards to financial information so that we can move forward with the distribution of the bequest.
