Meeting for Worship on the Occasion of Business
Held at the Senior Citizens’ Service Center,
Bennington, VT
May 20, 2018
Present were Juliet Wright, Auberta Galusha, Eliza Navias-Bell, Lucie McKee, Priscilla Tracy, Joseph Tracy, Maryann St. John
…It is good to remember that all ministry is one, and should flow from the same source. This is true of what we call ministry in a meeting for worship just as it should be true of everything which happens in a meeting – for worship – for business, for in that meeting we are ministering through our decisions either to ourselves or to the world beyond us…

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
2018-18 Meeting approved Maryann St. John’s special appeal for $300 to be donated to BROC for the Garden Fund.
2018-19 Meeting approves proceeding with the request for Rosemary Zimmerman to transfer her membership to Bennington Friends’ Meeting. Meeting will invite her to attend the Ministry and Counsel meeting on June 10th, with others invited to attend if they wish, to allow Rosemary and the meeting to become better acquainted before membership is approved. If that date does not work for Rosemary, an alternate date will be chosen.
2018-20 Arnold Ricks’ memorial meeting was discussed.
2018-21 Frances Ross’ bequest and possible uses for it were discussed, as well as reminiscences about her, her concerns, and her impact on the meeting and its members. A decision will not be made immediately. Concerns mentioned were the environment, peacemaking, housing for the meeting and others, and the first day school.
2018-22 Auberta Galusha reported on behalf of Interfaith Counsel.
2018-23 Meeting discussed providing scholarships to the Bridges Out of Poverty Workshop being held on Friday, June 22, 2018 by GBICS. The meeting approved offering four $30 scholarships, to be dispersed at GBICS’s request.
The meeting closed with a period of silence.
