Meeting for Worship on the Occasion of Business
Held at the Senior Citizens’ Service Center,
Bennington, VT

Present were Timmy Bullock, Auberta Galusha, Roc Kauffman, Juliet Wright, Priscilla Tracy, Eliza Navias-Bell, Lucie McKee and Marj Davis
A dimension much needed in the process of loving confrontation and in meeting challenges in all their complexity is perhaps a gift like that of grace – the gift of humor. There is a particularly kind of Quaker humor that nourishes, that saves the day, that delights and reaches down to some deep, needful core of self. It is a humor that has the universal appeal of holding up the mirror for us to unthreateningly see ourselves and the human condition in wonderful clarity.

The minutes for meeting for business for January 21, 2018 were read and approved.
2018-07 Priscilla Tracy reported on behalf of Ministry and Counsel.
2018-08 Meeting for business approves inviting Beth Collea for the first Sunday in May to lead both the First Day School and an after-discussion with the Meeting; details to be clarified.
2018-09 Meeting for business approves having Ministry and Counsel draft a statement for submission to FCNL on annual legislative priorities for the 115th Congress.
2018-10 Meeting for business approves the naming of Juliet Wright as Assistant Clerk of the meeting; when Juliet assumes the role of clerk, Eliza Navias-Bell will assume the duties of the Recording Clerk.
2018-11 Auberta Galusha reported on behalf of Interfaith Council.

Pastoral concerns discussed.
18-2 Ministry and Counsel recommends that Meeting continue to discuss the integration of First Day School with Meeting.
