The minutes for meeting for business for August 20, 2017 were read and approved.

2017-34 Priscilla Tracy reported on behalf of Ministry and Counsel.

2017-35 Meeting for business authorizes Eliza Navias-Bell, our treasurer, to vote for the Vangard proposal to “institute transparent procedures to avoid holding investments in companies that, in management’s judgment, substantially contribute to genocide or crimes against humanity, the most egregious violations of human rights. Such procedures may include time-limited engagement with problem companies if management believes that their behavior can be changed.”

2017-36 Meeting for business authorizes the purchase two copies of Pope Francis’ encyclical Celebrate the Year of Creation. The cost will be $20.00.

2017-37 Meeting for business approves a donation of $500.00 to the Fund for Sufferings Hurricane Relief at Live Oaks Meeting in Houston, with the understanding that we are not able to address extraordinary need and pain throughout much of the world. The donation should be taken from the Sufferings budget. At the rise of meeting for the next few weeks we will encourage those attending to contribute to our sufferings budget.

2017-38 Auberta Galusha reported on behalf of the Interfaith Council.

Minutes for Ministry and Counsel

September 10, 2017

Present were Priscilla Tracy, clerk, Timmy Bullock, clerk ex-officio, Auberta Galusha and Juliet Wright

Pastoral concerns discussed.

17-17 Ministry and Counsel recommends doing another Friendly Bible Study in the winter over January, February and March. We will work out a schedule in the next month or two that spreads the six meetings over several winter months.
