Meeting for Worship on the Occasion of Business
Held at the Senior Citizens’ Service Center,
Bennington, VT
September 18, 2016
Present were Priscilla Tracy, acting clerk, Lucy McKee, Auberta Galusha, Dorothea Izzo, Bain Davis, Marge Davis and Juliet Wright

2016-29 Meeting for business approves experimenting with early church chants on the first and third Sundays of every month. We will try this for two months. Ministry and Counsel will work out the details.
2016-30 The finance report was given. In Light of the surplus currently found in our budget, meeting for business suggests we might consider additional donations to on-going and new projects that promote our mission.
2016-31Meeting for business approves having Auberta Galusha and Timmy Bullock collaborate on a letter to the Second Congregational church, commending them for all of their work in the community and in honor of their 180th anniversary. Auberta is willing to attend as a Friends Meeting representative at the celebration.
2016-32 Meeting for business approves having a formal reflection on the Friendly Bible Study in November after Potluck.
2016-33 Meeting for business is looking for a representative for Interfaith Counsel. The meetings are the second Tuesday of every month from noon to 1:30.
After a period of silent worship, the meeting adjourned.

Minutes for Ministry and Counsel
Sunday, September 11, 2016
Present were Timmy Bullock, clerk ex-officio, Auberta Galusha and Juliet Wright
Pastoral concerns discussed.
16-13 Ministry and Counsel recommends that meeting for business draft a letter to Second Congregational Church commending them for all of their work in the community and in honor of their 180th anniversary. Date of their celebration is Sunday, September 25, 2016 with worship followed by a noon barbeque. The community is invited to the barbeque, but Second Congregational would like to know who would be attending.
16 – 14 Ministry and Counsel recommends that we reflect on the Friendly Bible study series.
16 – 15 Ministry and Counsel recommends playing the Quaker game, “Unwilling, Unable” on the fifth Sunday of October.
