Meeting for Worship on the Occasion of Business
Held at the Senior Citizens’ Service Center,
Bennington, VT
August 21, 2016
Present were Timmy Bullock, Auberta Galusha, Eliza Navias-Bell, Lucie McKee, Bain Davis, Priscilla Tracy, Dorothea Izzo
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
2016-26 Timmy updated us on the developments relating to finding a partner for a permaculture camp. She is currently communicating with Southern Vermont College.
2016-27 We are deferring extended discussion of the possibility of incorporating chanting into some part of our meeting until a later time.
2016-28 We discussed plans and details for retreat. We would like to hear from Sue Andrews about taking responsibility for food (yours and others), and hope she can help us understand how we can support specific projects in the community in specific ways. An honorarium of $400 will be given to an organization that Sue Andrews designates. Timmy will be in contact with the Bennington Senior Center about possible use of the building in case of rain. We will invite members of the permaculture group to come for any or all of the retreat. We approve the schedule proposed by Ministry and Council.

Minutes for Ministry and Counsel
Sunday, August 14, 2016
Present were Timmy Bullock, clerk ex-officio, Priscilla Tracy, Auberta Galusha, Juliet Wright, and Eliza Navias-Bell
Pastoral concerns discussed.
16-10 Ministry and Counsel considered a Friend’s recommendation that we incorporate some chanting into some part of our meeting. One such chant is Ubi caritas et amor, Ubi caritas, Deus ibi est. Ministry and Counsel recommends a trial period.
16-11Ministry and Counsel recommends arranging an alternative space for retreat in case of rain on Saturday, October 1 and we recommend the senior center.
16-12 Ministry and Counsel recommends that our retreat theme be centered on: developing concrete actions related to issues of food. We suggest an honorarium be given to an organization that Sue Andrews designates. We also recommend the following schedule for our retreat:
