If selfish views or a partial spirit have any room in our minds, we are unfit for the Lord’s work. If we have a clear prospect of the business and proper weight on our minds to speak, it behooves us to avoid useless apologies and repetitions.

The recording clerk read the minutes for meeting for business, April 17, 2016. They were approved.
2016-20 Meeting for business encourages the clerk to approach Matthew Perry of the Vermont Arts Exchange to explore the possibility of the exchange putting on a permaculture camp for middle school students in the summer of 2017, to be funded by Yearly Meeting Legacy Grant and supported by meeting volunteers.
2016-21 Meeting for business approves the retreat at McWaters Park on the first weekend in October. Part of the retreat will be to invite Sue Andrews to speak about food and food security in the Bennington Area and all of the efforts that are being mounted and how Bennington Friends Meeting can fit in.
2016-22 The clerk reported on New England Yearly Meetings decision to move meeting archives from Rhode Island to the University of Massachusetts. The meeting will wait for further directives on our next steps.
2016-22 Arnold Ricks reported on behalf of Finance Committee. It was approved.
2016-23 Auberta Galusha and Dorothea Izzo reported on behalf of Interfaith Council.
After a period of silent worship, the meeting adjourned.

Minutes for Ministry and Counsel

Present were Timmy Bullock, clerk ex-officio, Priscilla Tracy, Auberta Galusha, Juliet Wright, Eliza Navias-Bell and Dorothea Izzo
Pastoral concerns discussed.
16-8 Ministry and Counsel recommends re-opening the discussion of obtaining a Legacy Grant for the purpose of sponsoring a week long summer camp for middle school students built around the theme of permaculture. This would take place in the summer of 2017. The clerk will be in touch with Matthew Perry, the director of the Vermont Arts Exchange.
16-9 Ministry and Counsel recommends our annual retreat to be held at the permaculture gardens at McWaters Park on the first weekend in October. The intention is to be low key, but with some work, some planned reading, worship and a potluck.
